                                       TASHI LING

                  READING AND DISCUSSION GROUP

We meet fortnightly, alternating between Norwich and Mundesley.

The group was inspired largely by a recent teaching of Lama Samten at Marpa House, in which he pointed out that the term 'lama' in Tibetan Buddhism can refer not only to human teachers but also to elements of the natural world, to one's own 'Buddha nature', and to written texts.   Thus we see 'Tashi Ling' (which means somerting like 'auspicious sanctuary') as an auspicious place of the 'text lama'.

The meetings centre around study and discussion of  Buddhist texts.   The details of which texts will be read and discussed will be worked out depending on the interests of those attending.  We hope that some people may be able to attend both venues, but this is not at all essential.  All are welcome.
